We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Transplant Surgeon
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct transplant procedures and perioperative care
- Lead transplant surgical team and collaborate with medical teams
- Ensure legal and ethical compliance in transplantation
- Drive transplant program development and clinical outcomes tracking.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Basic Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent)
Fellowship in relevant specialty (required for MDCN specialist registration):
- FMCS (Fellow, Medical College of Surgeons – Nigeria)
- FWACS (Surgery/Urology)
- FRCS (UK – Royal College of Surgeons)
- Other certifications registrable by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
Subspecialty Certification in relevant field (must be from accredited institutions):
- ASTS-accredited Fellowship in Organ Transplant Surgery (USA)
- UK-approved Kidney or Liver Transplant Fellowship
- MCh in Urology or Transplant Surgery (India – NMC/MCI-recognized)
- Clinical Transplant Fellowships from Canadian, European, or Australian centers
Years of Experience Required:
- 5 years post-fellowship surgical practice, with at least 2years in transplant programs.
Skills and Competencies:
- Organ retrieval and implantation techniques
- Live and cadaveric donor/recipient surgery
- Immunosuppression and transplant ethics.
