We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Utility Engineer/Technician
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
- We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Utility Engineer/Technician to support all aspects of utility maintenance within our plant.
- The successful candidate will lead planned maintenance, minimize downtime, and ensure seamless operations of essential utilities including power, water, air, and steam systems.
Key Objectives
- Maintain and troubleshoot all utility systems including boilers, chillers, air compressors, WTP, WWTP, power distribution, firefighting systems, and cooling towers.
- Implement a proactive maintenance plan to reduce plant downtime.
- Train and develop utility technicians for optimal performance.
- Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives in utility operations.
Responsibilities
- Execute and document daily routines and planned maintenance for utility equipment.
- Respond swiftly to breakdowns and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor spare parts usage and plan inventory to avoid production downtime.
- Oversee contractors’ performance and report to the Engineering Manager.
- Recommend system upgrades and performance-enhancing modifications.
- Coach, mentor, and assess training needs for junior technical staff.

- Technical training and development outcomes
Key Requirements
- BSc/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in utility systems maintenance.
- Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of utility plant operations.
- Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of:
- Power generation systems
- Water Treatment & Wastewater Treatment Plants
- Boilers, Chillers, and Air Compressors
- Cooling Towers and Boreholes
- Firefighting & Safety Equipment
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and troubleshoot under pressure.
Salary
N200,000 – N250,000 Monthly.
