1). VP, Product Engineering
Location: US & UK – Remote
The Role:
- Flutterwave is looking for an VP of Product Engineering to join the organization and drive the development and enhancement of our payments platform. Your deep understanding of the payments industry, technical expertise, and strategic vision will be instrumental in shaping our product roadmap, fostering innovation, and ensuring the successful delivery of cutting-edge payment solutions. The individual will be responsible for leading all of the product engineering teams across the organization and would report directly to the CTO.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute the product engineering roadmap, aligning it with the company’s overall business objectives and long-term vision.
- Drive technical innovation by leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies to deliver scalable and reliable payment solutions.
- Foster a high-performance engineering culture, attracting and retaining top engineering talent, and promoting professional growth and development within the team.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define and execute the company’s technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality releases.
- Work closely with product management and design teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and establish development milestones.
- Drive agile software development methodologies and foster a culture of continuous improvement and rapid iteration.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing engineering team, providing mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver products that meet market needs and customer expectations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential applications for enhancing our payment solutions.
- Champion engineering best practices, quality assurance, and scalable architecture design to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our systems.

- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization, including product management, design, and business development, to drive cross-functional alignment and successful product launches.
Required competency and skillset to be a waver
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years leading large engineering teams.
- Experience in the payments industry is HIGHLY preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and scaling engineering teams in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
- Extensive experience in product development and software engineering.
- Experience in payments space highly desired
- Strong technical background with a deep understanding of software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and scalable systems.
- Solid knowledge of agile software development methodologies and tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.

2). VP, Infrastructure
Location: Remote
The Role:
- Flutterwave is looking for an VP of Infrastructure to join the organization and drive the design, implementation, and maintenance of our infrastructure, with a specific focus on cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure management and a deep understanding of cloud platforms, enabling them to lead the adoption, optimization, and security of cloud-based infrastructure solutions. They will provide strategic direction to the team and collaborate with other technology leaders to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency of our infrastructure systems.
- The individual is responsible for leading the DevOps, Infrastructure, and SRE teams within the organization and would report directly to the CTO.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute the infrastructure strategy and roadmap aligned with the company’s goals, with a strong emphasis on cloud technologies.
- Lead and manage a team of infrastructure professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and management of cloud-based infrastructure solutions, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with other technology leaders, including the CTO, to align infrastructure initiatives with overall technology strategies and business objectives.
- Drive the adoption of best practices, industry standards, and emerging technologies in cloud infrastructure management.
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements in the design and operation of cloud-based infrastructure systems.
- Manage vendor relationships, including negotiation and contracting, to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and solutions.
- Monitor and maintain the overall health and performance of infrastructure systems, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues or bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure solutions with other systems, applications, and processes.

Required competency and skillset to be a Waver:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Extensive experience working with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or other leading cloud platforms.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including networking, servers, storage, virtualization, and containerization.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing infrastructure teams, including experience in talent acquisition, development, and performance management.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools, enabling efficient and automated infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment.
- Solid understanding of security and compliance requirements related to cloud infrastructure.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and make strategic decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Relevant certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of payment systems is highly desirable.

3). DevOps Engineer
Location: Lekki, Lagos (Hybrid)

Department: Engineering – DevOps & SRE
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure.
- Provide Level 2 technical support.
- Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
- Perform root cause analysis for production error
- Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
- Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’.
- Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
- Develop scripts to automate visualization.
Requirements

- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, other process improvement methodologies, or just have a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor improvement projects with a focus on timeliness and quality.
