Job Description
In this role, you will support the West African market by overseeing and enhancing our internal control environment. This involves reviewing and assessing significant risks associated with various aspects of our processes and providing practical recommendations to mitigate these risks. You will report to the Senior Internal Auditor.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, scoping, and execution of internal audits based on the annual audit plan and risk assessment process.
- Conduct interviews, review documents, and perform other procedures to gather information and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Prepare audit work papers and ensure that all recommendations are well-documented.
- Collect audit evidence to substantiate findings and recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare audit reports for presentation to management and the audit committee.
- Define the internal audit scope for specific assignments.
- Issue reports highlighting audit findings and potential business impacts.
- Perform audit assignments in other regions when required.
- Provide administrative support to the Audit Department.
- Perform any other duties related to the job responsibility as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields from a recognized university.
- Certification such as ACCA, CPA, CIA, CISA, or an equivalent qualification.
- 3-4 years of work experience in an audit firm.
- Experience in the West African region.
- Membership in a professional body related to audit or related fields.
- Strong integrity and truthfulness.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including the ability to perform complex functions and analysis.
- Knowledge of accounting systems.
- Familiarity with professional standards.
