1). Product Analyst

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Analyst, who will support the drive, design and develop products in the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc.
  • She/he will also support all functions pertaining to product lines with the overall goal of ensuring products are appropriately priced, positioned, promoted, and supported in a way that will increase order flow as measured by number of transactions, trading volume and value in line with our strategy.
  • The Product Analyst will work as a “Product Champion” by proactively disseminating related information whilst communicating the product message.
  • She/he will be required to stay abreast of the competitive landscape and industry trends (utilisng internal and external data/information) to support the creation of a competitive platform that enables stakeholders realise their investment objectives.
  • In addition, She/he will drive Product Development Programmes as well as ensure the success of these programmes by working with all relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support continuous enhancement of Market micro-structure, as well as development and introduction of Product lines/markets.
  • Support development and drive of product lifecycle, from creation to launch/operational, as well as product excellence and usage.
  • Catalyse adoption of global best practices in sales practice, order handling, trade execution, trade reporting, and other initiatives that will enhance client experience when interacting in the market.
  • Work with the Market Operations and Technology teams to ensure system compatibility with market structure enhancements.
  • Work with market participants to increase market liquidity; and review enquiries such as length of trading hours, circuit breakers, best execution statistic, opening and closing auctions, etc.
  • Assist to drive review and amendment of trading rules as necessary, to promote fair and orderly trading of Products.
  • Support coordination and operation of investor education programmes in partnership with other stakeholders on market products.
  • Understand drivers of order flow to the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc.
  • Support coordination and partnership with the other product development team members in conjunction with other stakeholders, to design and price products, identify and address key issues that must be resolved before a successful product launch.
  • Serve as an ambassador and product line expert to internal/external stakeholders.
  • Research new product ideas in conjunction with institutional/wholesale distribution and marketing firms to determine success potentials and uniqueness within the industry.
  • Support the Product Manager to monitor and interpret product pricing trends as well as recommend appropriate strategies.
  • Understand product profitability goals and provide inputs to appropriate financial areas.
  • Provide insights and marketing on an on-going proactive basis with respect to product positioning.
  • Analyse competitive marketplace and industry trends to appropriately develop business strategies for revenue generation.

Person Specification & Required Qualification(s)

  • First Degree in a Quantitative or Business related area.
  • 2-5 years’ post NYSC experience in financial services industry or in an investment product management/marketing role, distribution-related role.
  • Good business knowledge of Markets trading, settlement, middle and back-office systems.
  • Experience in product development and management within the Financial Services Industry.
  • Sound understanding of Capital Markets Business/Industry.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Reuters & Bloomberg platforms.
  • Relevant experience in trading, sales and operations of Capital Market products.
  • Good working knowledge on institutional and wholesale distribution channels.
  • First class communication abilities andable to liaise across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong leadership qualities as well as ability to function effectively with a team.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal policies, regulations and risk management.
  • Thoroughness, attention to detail with a high sense of responsibility.
  • Strong research, report writing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage effectively with C-level Executives.

2). Cash Management and Payments Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • We seek an individual who will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing cash effectively.
  • He/She will Liaise with banks and maintain security and confidentiality of financial records.
  • The Cash Management and Payment Officer, this position reports to the Team Lead, Cash Management and Payment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure up-to-date database of operating banks, and their account details and facilitate documentation requirements.
  • Ensure timely payment of payroll transactions/staff reimbursement.
  • Ensure timely payment of statutory dues of the company (VAT/WHT).
  • Ensure vendor’s payment accuracy and timeliness in accordance with contractual obligations and turnaround time on NGX-GAAPs.
  • Monitor bank balances and perform bank fee analysis.
  • Ensure timely preparation of monthly reconciliation of all banks maintained by Nigerian Exchange and follow up of unreconciled transactions with the concerned department.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure reconciliation of various treasury-related GL codes with trial balance.
  • Ensure processing of all cash and bank transactions in the business system (ERP).
  • Ensure preparation of weekly reconciliations of all bank accounts maintained by Nigerian Exchange.
  • Ensure all cheque payments are supported by authorized invoices.
  • Ensure cash advance ledger is reconciled monthly and retirement are supported by appropriate documentation and authorized signatory.
  • Ensure prompt, efficient and accurate service in processing requests and transactions on NGX GAPs electronic payment platform.

Person Specification & Required Qualification (s)

  • B.Sc / HND Degree in Banking, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a similar field;
  • 2-5 years cognate experience in a similar role;
  • At least one relevant professional qualification e.g. ACCA, ACA.
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and compliance requirements.

3). IT Audit Analyst

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • We are actively seeking a skilled Information Technology Audit Analyst to join the Internal Audit department.
  • The successful candidate will be required to evaluate the effectiveness of the Group’s IT controls, identify potential vulnerabilities and provide valuable insights to enhance technology related processes.
  • He/She should possess a sound knowledge of internal control principles, audit practices and compliance within an IT-related environment and ensure the Internal Audit team adopts best practice across the Group.

Responsibilities

  • Review and ensure access control strategy aligns with corporate identity policy and IT architecture of NGX;
  • Review and ensure a unique identity is used to initiate a transaction and user is currently authorised to perform such action;
  • Ensuring access violations are identified. e.g. ex- staff accounts still active on NGX applications;
  • Reviews IT Projects to identify risks introduced during vendor selection, pre-implementation and go-live phases due to system adaptation for NGXG’s users and processes;
  • Review and ensure  key controls are embedded through the application acquisition life cycle and go-live of various applications and processes;
  • Ensure effective follow-up with Audit clients, to resolve all outstanding weighty exceptions, open items and management letters raised internal and external audits.
  • Participate in cross functional reviews – Financial, Operations, Compliance, IT and Investigations;
  • Preparation of departmental quarterly reports;
  • Participate in review of business applications (X-stream, ERP, etc.) in  event of fires, terrorist attacks, extended power failures, equipment and telecommunications failures;
  • Review DR incidences as it relates to Recovery Time Objective “RTO” and Recovery Point Objective “RPO”, as well as ensure adherence to Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity principles;
  • Ensure all IT-related activities are reviewed for compliance and consistency;
  • Ensure disaster recovery processes across the Group are available and sufficient to withstand major disruptions to our information systems;
  • Continuous auditing of X-stream and ensure data from the application are accurate and free from error or manipulation;
  • Ensure change management procedures are standardised and followed in all IT-related system changes (maintenance, patches, etc.);
  • Ensure Data Centre Best Practices.

Person Specification & Required Qualification (s)

  • HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a similar field;
  • Professional Certifications – CISA (Certified Information Systems Audit), ISO27001, ITIL and ACA will be an advantage;
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ cognate experience in core IT, Information Security, or IT Audit roles within the financial services or capital market industry;
  • Knowledge of various related standards and frameworks that include- ISACA framework, COBIT, COSO, SOX, ICFR, BASEL 1 & II;
  • Ability to build strong partnerships internally and externally, communicate to a wide variety of audiences in clear, understandable language, and be a skilled facilitator of group actions.
  • Demonstrable ability to build trust with stakeholders as well as  possess a high level of integrity.
