1). Video Editor & Cinematographer

Job Description
- Pulse is looking for a Video Editor & Cinematographer to join the team. As a Video Editor / Cinematographer, you will work with our in-house teams to create compelling and exciting videos that will engage with the Pulse audience, clients and meet marketing strategies and objectives.
- Our ideal candidate has a solid knowledge of camera equipment, lighting and editing softwares.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create video content with high visual impact for Pulse – internal and for clients.
- Videography in-house and on the field as assigned.
- Work on a brief, develop and pitch creative ideas and concepts, choosing the appropriate media and style to meet objectives.
- Overall editing responsibilities and quality control of all edits – including choice of images and videos, soundtrack, text placement, proofreading and cross-checking facts, spelling, grammar, writing style, colour, etc.
- Secure appropriate rights, licenses and clearances for video, image, and soundtrack usage to avoid copyright infringement.
- Contribute to new video format development and implementation.
- All around assistance on post production activities.
- You may be required to manage more than one brief at a time and will therefore have to prioritize effectively, allocating the relevant amount of time and resources according to the value of the job – ensuring that deadlines are met on all video projects.
- Ensure proper organization and safekeeping of video footage and logs.
- Assist with event coverage as required.
- You will keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly video and design programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3ds Max, and other relevant programs from the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Maintain strong, trusting relationships with all internal and external collaborators – clients and internal teams.
Desired Skills & Experience
- 2-3 years experience working on branded video content is preferred
- Great videography / video editing portfolio
- Skilled with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc and a good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as it applies video post-production
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to keep the team up to date on project timelines
- Very organized, goal-oriented, and can drive results while multi-tasking priorities
- Good knowledge of Google Workspace – docs, sheets, drive, slides, etc.
- A lot of energy, passion and enthusiasm.

2). Video Producer

Job Description
- Pulse is looking for a Video Producer to join the team. Our ideal candidate is a creative storyteller and has hands-on experience with multimedia productions, telling stories that support marketing objectives.
Your Job Duties and Responsibilities
This position will be based in our Lagos office, reports to the Head of Social Video. KPIs to be met on a regular basis will be communicated:
- Scripting and storytelling for all projects, including client projects – in all styles, forms and lengths
- Develop and pitch creative ideas and concepts, choosing the appropriate media and style to meet objectives
- Ensure quality control of all published content – story authenticity, fact checking, spelling, grammar, style, consistency with the Pulse brand voice, adherence to Pulse editorial guidelines, full respect for copyright laws.
- Script, storyboard, set deadlines, and select optimal forms of media for projects
- Work independently, as well as part of a team, to establish project deliverables
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Social Video to help facilitate the creation of digital video content
- Plan video shoots; shoot outline, scout, and select shoot locations
- Develop production schedules and manage timelines and resources to ensure deadlines are met
- Meet regularly with the Head of Video/Senior Producer to discuss video content and suggest innovative ideas
- Prepare questions for celebrity interviews and conduct the interviews
- Production of weekly in-house videos and podcast formats
- Stay up to date of the latest trends and contribute to team learning sessions and knowledge sharing.
Desired Skills & Experience
- 2 – 3 years experience in overseeing new media content and video production.
- Excellent writing and story development skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

3). Creative Digital Strategist

Reporting to: The Head of Creative Digital Strategy.
Job Description
- We are looking for a Creative Digital Strategist to join the team. You will be responsible for ideation and creation of strategy across a variety of platforms, both digital and offline, for potential and existing clients.
- You will translate customer data into actionable insights and propose strategies that will help clients to achieve their campaign objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop sales and marketing material to support the Sales teams across Africa.
- Dissect client briefs and propose innovative creative and marketing strategies that will enable brands to connect to their audiences and achieve their business goals in the most effective manner.
- Develop compelling proposals to communicate these strategies.
- Contribute and sometimes lead in-house ideation sessions.
- Conduct digital audits that yield rich insights into consumer and competitor’s online behavior and key motivational/attitudinal behaviour.
- Develop a total understanding of online target audience and mindset modes.
- Assist in creating budgets for proposed strategies in line with the company rate card, working with all relevant internal sales and execution teams.
- Support the sales team in any and all activities that will help the team meet its overall revenue and profit targets including occasional client meetings and prospecting.
- Attend sales team meetings and share best practice with colleagues across Africa.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Candidates should possess a B.Sc / HND qualification.
- 1 – 3 years of experience in a marketing, strategy, or analyst position – Digital/ Creative/ Media/Marketing/ Advertising industries preferred.
- A creative thinker who can connect 360° digital to all aspects of a client’s business and drive growth opportunities
- Great presentation skills and ability to create awesome pitch decks.
- Proficient in Powerpoint.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment with dynamic business priorities.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
