• SPIE Oil & Gas NIGERIA is actively looking for experienced HSE Fire Watch :

Here are the basic responsibilities of a fire and safety watch:

• Watch out for fire hazards in the workplace while work is performed by other employees.
• Read and understand the PTW requirement and ensure all personnel involve in the task also do
• Maintain the conditions and requirements stated on the safety permit.
• Keep flammable materials from ignition sources.
• In the event of fire, extinguish it immediately or turn a fire alarm on.
• Call the emergency alarm number.
• Stop operations if you find any hazardous condition.

Any condition in the workplace, whether usual or unexpected, determines your basic duties as a fire or safety watch. Some of them are the following:

• Make sure you and other employees are aware of the exact location of fire- fighting equipment in the immediate area.
• Maintain constant means of communication.
• As much as possible, keep visual and voice contact with other employees.
• Before and during each shift, inspect the entire work area and look for potential release of flammable vapors or liquids.
• Be prepared to operate fire extinguishers, hydrants, fixed monitors, and hose carts anytime.
• Never leave the job site while the work is being done. If you have to leave, stop the job and notify workers that you are “standing-by-for”.
• When all operations are done, do not leave the worksite unless you’re sure that there are no hot sparks, burning embers and other fire hazards. Return all fire fighting equipment to their original location.

Your profile :

• Extensive experience in Oil & Gas
• Extensive experience working as a HSE Fire Watch
• Relevant trade certificate with a minimum 6 years’ experience
• Good standard of HSE practice, values & principles
• Experience in shutdown project is a strong plus

Job description

SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently look for a Mechanical Fitter to join her team in Nigeria.

This position is responsible for reviewing blueprints, planning, installing, and maintaining piping systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Inspecting the workplace, clearing obstructions and preparing materials and equipment.
• Studying blueprints and planning systems and related equipment installations.
• Using a variety of tools to modify pipes to specifications.
• Measuring and marking pipes for cutting and threading.
• Assembling and welding pipe components and systems.
• Securing pipes to walls and fixtures with brackets, clamps, and welding equipment.
• Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints

Profile

Candidates Profile:

• The candidate shall have a Diploma in Mechanical or any related discipline with at least 6 year of relevant experience.
• Proven experience as a Fitter
• Proven experience as Heat Pressure Fitter /Heat Exchanger Fitter /CSCC Fitter / Piping Fitter / Valve Fitter
• Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Candidates shall have good health and sound physique.
• Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds
