Title: Architect Location: Lekki, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Responsibilities Design Development: \tCollaborate with clients to understand their requirements, vision, and project goals. \tCreate concept sketches, drawings, and architectural models to visualize and communicate design ideas effectively. \tDevelop comprehensive design proposals that align with project constraints, regulations, and aesthetic preferences. Project Planning: \tConduct site analysis to assess the physical, environmental, and contextual factors that could impact the design. \tPrepare feasibility studies and cost estimates to guide project budgeting and resource allocation. \tCollaborate with engineers, urban planners, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive design approach. Technical Expertise: \tDevelop detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software. \tEnsure designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and zoning requirements. \tIntegrate sustainable design principles to enhance energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact. Client Collaboration: \tMaintain open communication with clients to gather feedback, address concerns, and update them on project progress. \tPresent design concepts and proposals to clients, explaining design rationale and addressing questions. Project Management: \tOversee the project from inception to completion, ensuring timelines and milestones are met. \tCoordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure construction aligns with design intent. \tMonitor construction progress, resolve design-related issues, and approve material and finish selections. Quality Control: \tConduct site visits and inspections to ensure that construction aligns with the design plans and specifications. \tReview and approve shop drawings, samples, and mock-ups to maintain design integrity. Innovation and Research: \tStay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging materials to integrate innovative solutions into projects. \tApply creative problem-solving skills to address design challenges and create unique, functional spaces. Requirements \tBachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. \tProfessional licensure as an architect (where required) or eligibility to pursue licensure. \tProficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.). \tStrong understanding of building codes, regulations, and zoning requirements. \tExcellent communication and presentation skills to collaborate with clients and stakeholders. \tAttention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics. \tProject management skills to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. \tKnowledge of sustainable design principles and their implementation. Experience: \tPrevious experience in architectural design, preferably with a portfolio showcasing a range of project types and scales. \tExperience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, contractors, and consultants. \tExperience in managing all phases of a project, from concept design through construction administration.
