Job Title: Accountant
Location: Apapa, Lagos
Responsibilities
- Accounting and overseeing day-to-day operations of the company’s bank accounts.
- Reconcile bank payment vouchers with internal accounting of Bank payments regularly.
- Ensure that all deposits, withdrawals, and transfers are accurately recorded.
- Handling Petty Cash and parking entries for petty Cash payments Vouchers
Financial Transactions:
- Making payment vouchers to suppliers, contractors, and other third parties.
- Manage receipts and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
- Coordinate with banks to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
General Accounting Support:
- Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Maintain accurate records of company expenditures, receipts, and income.
- Track and process invoices and receipts from customers and suppliers.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in accounting or banking, preferably within a corporate or financial institution.
- Experience in working with Nigerian banks and understanding of the local banking environment is essential.
- Knowledge of accounting software and tools (e.g., ERP Navision) is required.
