Job Title: Accountant
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
- The Accountant will play a key role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.
- The ideal candidate will be experienced, professionally certified, and capable of thriving in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory financial reporting requirements.
- Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow, expenditure, and financial controls.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all financial transactions.
- Oversee payroll, tax computation, and remittance (PAYE, VAT, WHT, etc.).
- Provide financial insight and recommendations to support strategic planning and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures.
- Support financial due diligence, audits, and risk assessments.
Requirements
- B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ICAN or ACA certification is mandatory.
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably within consulting or the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, financial regulations, and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- High level of integrity and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
