Job Summary

  • We are looking to hire an Accountant who will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning.
  • This role involves maintaining accurate books of accounts, preparing financial reports, overseeing budgets, fundraising and ensuring timely tax and statutory filings.

Job Description

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Zoho Books).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts.
  • Monitor company budgets and report on variances.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and collections.
  • Ensure timely remittance and documentation of taxes such as VAT, WHT, PAYE, and other statutory deductions.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor financial transactions and conduct periodic reviews to ensure proper recording.
  • Manage payroll calculations and coordinate with HR on employee compensation.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to management to support decision-making.
  • Support inventory and asset tracking where applicable.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Accounting, Finance or a relevant degree with at least 4 years experience
  • Professional certification (or in progress) such as ICAN, ACCA, or ACA is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
  • Experience with general ledger functions
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Salary

  • N150,000 – N200,000 Monthly.
