Job Title: Administrative Intern

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • ART X  is excited to offer a dynamic and hands-on internship programme for a cohort of enthusiastic and energetic individuals to contribute to our upcoming campaign season and 10th year anniversary fair.
  • This 4-month paid internship will run from August to November, providing a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and contribute meaningfully to the operations of the leading international art fair in West Africa.
  • Over the course of the programme, interns will become integral members of their respective teams, providing support while gaining valuable experience. These teams include: Admin, Guest Relations and Marketing.
  • This is a full-time, in-person internship programme, based in Lagos for four months, from August to November. NYSC candidates are welcome to apply. All interns must provide their own laptop and smartphone.
  • This programme offers a pathway for the Admin Intern role in particular, to transition into an extended Intern position after the initial 4 months.

Focus:

  • Providing essential administrative support with the goal of ensuring optimal operations of the organisation during and after the campaign season

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the office is running smoothly and assist in handling tasks and resolving issues related to daily operational activities.
  • Assist in managing team welfare, including the planning and execution of internal team-building activities, meetings and social events
  • Assist in inventory management of company property, merchandise and materials.
  • Liaise with the company’s vendors, maintain vendor relationships and handle vendor negotiations.
  • Manage the supply of office stationery and work tools needed by the team.
  • Assist with travel logistics: managing hotel bookings, vehicle hire, flight bookings (local and international), and airport concierge bookings.
  • Assist with the management of incoming and outgoing ‘mail’.
  • Handle out-of-office tasks with external stakeholders and vendors.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate is a graduate with a passion for art and culture.
  • You are detail-oriented, highly organised, and proactive, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Other key requirements include:

  • A minimum of a  Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • A strong cultural alignment with ART X’s values of excellence, ownership, kindness, integrity, consistently going the extra mile as a catalyst for change
  • A genuine passion for art and culture, and alignment with ART X’s values and mission
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Respect for confidentiality and professional conduct
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Docs.
