Job Summary
- The Asset/Inventory Management Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the management, tracking, and optimization of company assets and inventory within the asset.
- This role ensures that all assets, materials, and equipment are accounted for, properly maintained, and efficiently utilized.
- The individual is also responsible for implementing asset and inventory control processes, managing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the lifecycle management of company assets, including acquisition, utilization, maintenance, and disposal, ensuring that all assets are recorded and tracked properly.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that materials, equipment, and spare parts are available when needed while minimizing excess or obsolete stock.
- Implement and maintain asset tracking systems to provide accurate and real- time information on asset location, status, and condition across the different fields and departments.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and stock takes to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal control policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of all inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, returns, and transfers of assets and materials, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and optimize stock levels, minimizing holding costs while ensuring the availability of critical items for operations.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to coordinate the replenishment of stock items and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment based on operational needs.
- Ensure that all inventory management activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
- Identify risks related to asset management and inventory control, such as theft, damage, or stockouts, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Implement and leverage technology, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and inventory management software, to streamline asset tracking and inventory control processes.
- Prepare and present regular reports on asset utilization, inventory levels, and stock performance to management.
- Provide visible leadership to the other Inventory and Warehouse Operations team members.
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or a related field.
- Possession of relevant professional certification – CIPS, is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years cognate experience in procurement preferably within the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of asset management principles, inventory control processes, and supply chain management in the upstream oil & gas sector.
- Proficiency in using inventory management systems, ERP software (e.g., Oracle), and asset tracking tools for managing inventory and assets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze inventory data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize stock levels and asset utilization.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including procurement, maintenance, and operations.
- High level accuracy and attention to detail in managing inventory records, asset tracking, and reporting.

- Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
