Job Title: Assistant IT Officer (NYSC)

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Description

  • An Assistant IT Officer provides technical support and assists in managing an organization’s IT infrastructure.
  • This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, ensuring network security, and maintaining IT systems to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • The Assistant IT Officer works closely with the IT team to implement system upgrades, support end-users, and ensure data security and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • This include installing, configuring, and maintaining IT equipment, including computers, printers, and network devices.
  • They also provide technical support to employees, troubleshooting IT-related issues and escalating complex problems when necessary.
  • Additionally, the Assistant IT Officer assists in software updates, data backups, and cybersecurity measures to protect the company’s systems.
  • They may also contribute to IT documentation, and the implementation of new technologies to improve efficiency.

Education, Skills & Experience Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is typically required. Professional IT certifications are advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of IT systems, networking, troubleshooting, and cybersecurity principles. Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and cloud-based technologies is a plus. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in an IT support or technical assistance role. Prior experience in IT helpdesk support, system administration, or network management is an added advantage.
