Job Summary

  • The Business Development Lead will be a vital team player who will work closely with the Business Development Director to drive JUVICLE business engagements, generate businesses across the value chain of the Oil and Gas industry, and achieve corporate revenue goals. He/She will be a great team leader who will drive a group of dynamic and innovative individuals to broaden and deepen JUVICLE’s revenue capacity and business intelligence reach in the industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead Generation and Prospecting

  • Identify and generate leads through various channels such as networking, cold calling, industry events, and digital marketing.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential clients or partners.

Account Management and Revenue Generation

  • Develop Key Accounts to meet corporate revenue goals annually.
  • Develop frameworks to expand JUVICLE’s footprint in the Oil and gas industry.
  • Identify potential partnerships and opportunities to enhance the company’s industry market presence and the distribution of products and services.
  • Kick-off negotiation to ensure a smooth partnership collaboration.
  • Oversee end-to-end tender documentation and submission processes on NiPEX and other industry platforms.
  • Develop business development strategies and oversee the execution to achieve JUVICLE’s revenue goals for the year.

Internal Cross-Functional Collaboration and Build External Relationships

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including HR, marketing, product development, operations, accounts, and finance, to ensure alignment and successful execution of business development strategies.
  • Mentor the team on client relationship management.
  • Identify opportunities, and establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, clients, partners, and industry influencers to advance the business.

Market Research and Business Strategic Planning

  • Conduct market research and analyze market data to identify potential target and new markets, customer segments, product/service opportunities, and industry emerging trends and develop expansion strategies.
  • Analyze market data to evaluate the competition and identify new business opportunities.

Business Development Proposals, Presentations, and Training

  • Supervise the preparation of documents and information for requests for business proposals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Supervise the Business Development team to prepare and present business proposals, presentations, and pitches to potential clients, partners, and JUVICLE Management to highlight business or marketing opportunities and present results of strategic wins.

Competitive Analysis

  • Monitor and analyze competitors’ activities, pricing strategies, and market positioning.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and developments to identify competitive advantages and areas for improvement.

Reporting and Metrics

  • Track and report business development activities, such as leads generated, conversions, revenue generated, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide regular reports to executive management with insights and recommendations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Geology, Business Administration, or any other related course.
  • An MBA degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in business development in the Oil and gas industry or Engineering.
  • Experience in the end-to-end tendering process on the NipeX portal and other industry platforms is essential.
  • A great oil and gas industry network in Africa and especially Nigeria, will be an added advantage.
