Job Title: Collection Agent

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Description

  • The Collection Agents is responsible for managing and recovering outstanding debts owed to the organization. The role involves contacting borrowers, negotiating payment plans, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Agents must exhibit strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to effectively assist customers while meeting collection targets.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Communication:

  • Contact borrowers through phone calls, emails, and letters to remind them of overdue payments.
  • Respond to borrower inquiries and provide guidance on payment options or loan restructuring.

Debt Recovery:

  • Negotiate repayment plans that are feasible for the borrower while meeting company objectives.
  • Follow up regularly to ensure commitments are met and maintain accurate records of all interactions.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all collections activities in the system.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on collection progress and account status.

Compliance and Ethical Standards:

  • Ensure all collection efforts comply with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Handle borrower information with confidentiality and integrity.

Problem-Solving and Escalation:

  • Identify reasons for non-payment and propose solutions to help borrowers resume payments.
  • Escalate complex cases to senior staff or legal teams when necessary.

Performance Management:

  • Meet or exceed individual and team collection targets.
  • Continuously improve through training and feedback sessions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree, OND or SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in collections, customer service, or a related field is preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and other relevant software.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.

Salary

  • N60,000 / month.
