We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Construction Procurement Specialist & Quantity Surveyor

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement process for construction materials, services, and equipment, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Collaborate with project managers and architects to establish material specifications and cost requirements for construction projects.
  • Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for various construction activities, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance and delivery to ensure quality standards and timely project completion.
  • Implement cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle to manage budgets effectively and reduce waste.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on procurement activities, cost analysis, and project progression for stakeholder review.
  • Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize construction costs without compromising quality or safety.

Measurable KPIs

  • Reduction in procurement costs as a percentage of overall project expenditure.
  • Timeliness of procurement processes, measured by adherence to project schedules and delivery timelines.
  • Accuracy and reliability of cost estimates versus actual expenditures.
  • Supplier performance indicators, including on-time delivery rates and quality assessment scores.
  • Achievement of budget compliance across multiple projects through effective cost control measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Procurement Specialist and Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector.
  • Professional certification (e.g., RICS, CIQS) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, including MS Excel, AutoCAD, and project management tools.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations relating to procurement and construction practices.

Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, construction contracts, and project estimation.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying techniques and tools, including take-off software and cost estimation.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in assessing project costs and supplier performance.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills to engage effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
