Job Description

  • As a Control Field Specialist within the IET business, your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting control panel commissioning, logic modifications, loop & functional checks, panel certification, and upgrades.
  • Providing technical guidance and supervision to the client on BH rotating equipment (HDGT, Aero GT, and Compressors).
  • Overseeing troubleshooting, commissioning, and startup activities of BH products (HDGT, Aero GT, and Compressors) related to Control engineering during outages.
  • Directly interfacing with BH Engineering on matters related to equipment reliability, operations, maintenance, and failure analysis.
  • Offering direction and assistance to work groups to achieve assigned objectives.
  • Coordinating and overseeing field site work, ensuring high-quality service delivery to customers.
  • Collaborating with fellow crew members to handle the installation and maintenance activities of Customer Equipment in the Field at Customer Sites.
  • Safely executing all required responsibilities as per instructions from direct supervisors, following all IET Service processes and procedures.
  • Providing detailed records of all activities conducted at Customer Sites to the Baker Hughes IET Supervisor and fostering positive team relations.
  • Making recommendations based on findings and assessing the effectiveness of maintenance actions to identify future needs.
  • Managing the overhaul, troubleshooting, commissioning, and start-up of rotating equipment (Baker Hughes portfolio products) at customer sites.
  • Coordinating equipment cleanup, repair, and preparation for the next job.
  • Conducting all business activities in alignment with Baker Hughes Core Values (HSE, Quality, and Compliance).

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in Turbomachinery Controls systems and field instrumentation.
  • Demonstrate strong working experience with at least two of the following GE/BH control systems: MKV, MKVI, MKVIe, Rx3i, GE Fanuc.
  • Showcase experience in commissioning and startup of GE or BH Turbomachinery equipment equipped with Speedtronics MKV, MKVI, MKVIe, RX3i, or GE Fanuc control systems.
  • Be capable of working independently as a Control specialist and field Instrumentation specialist.
  • Have experience working with Turbomachinery equipment, including Heavy Duty Gas Turbines, Aeroderivative Gas Turbines, Centrifugal compressors, etc.
  • Be willing to travel for work, with up to 70% travel time.
  • Possess strong functional/technical, customer focus, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
