Job Title: Credit Administrator
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Job Summary
- The Credit Administration Officer is responsible for managing post-loan disbursement activities, ensuring proper documentation, monitoring loan performance, and enforcing credit policies.
- The role involves liaising with the credit risk, collections, and legal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements while maintaining the bank’s loan portfolio quality.
Key Responsibilities
Loan Documentation & Disbursement:
- Ensure all loan approvals are documented in line with the bank’s credit policies before disbursement.
- Review loan agreements, security documentation, and other relevant records to ensure completeness and compliance.
- Work closely with the legal team to perfect loan securities and collateral documentation.
- Maintain an organized filing system (physical and electronic) for all credit-related documents.
Credit Monitoring & Compliance:
- Track and monitor loan repayments, ensuring timely collection and identifying early warning signals.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines, internal credit policies, and risk management frameworks.
- Conduct periodic loan portfolio reviews to assess risk levels and recommend mitigation measures.
- Prepare and submit credit administration reports to management, regulatory bodies, and auditors.
Collateral & Security Management:
- Ensure all collateral documentation is properly recorded, secured, and updated as needed.
- Work with external valuers, legal firms, and insurance providers to verify collateral validity and enforceability.
- Monitor and update the status of pledged securities, ensuring their adequacy throughout the loan lifecycle.
Portfolio Management & Reporting:
- Maintain an accurate database of all credit facilities, ensuring proper classification of performing and non-performing loans.
- Generate reports on credit exposure, portfolio trends, and potential risks.
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports, including those required by the Central Bank and other financial authorities.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Liaise with the credit risk team to ensure effective loan portfolio management.
- Support the collections team in recovery efforts, providing necessary documentation and insights.
- Work closely with relationship managers to resolve credit administration issues affecting customers.
