About the Job

  • The Events Manager will be responsible for the overall management, operation, and promotion of the 5,000 capacity event center at Transcorp Hotels Abuja.
  • This includes ensuring optimal utilization of the facility, maintaining high standards of facility management, and overseeing all aspects of event execution to ensure they align with the brand’s promise and operational standards.
  • He/She will take responsibility for management of the event facility ensuring all events are successful, cost effective and risk free.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all facility-related activities, including bookings, scheduling, and client interactions.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive facility calendar to efficiently handle all bookings and prevent scheduling conflicts.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the event facility, ensuring that all functional areas are maintained and prepared for upcoming events.
  • Implement and manage a facility maintenance schedule to ensure all areas are in excellent condition and meet safety and compliance standards.
  • Develop and enforce facility management policies to maximize operational efficiency and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and manage facility budgets and expenditures, ensuring all events are cost-effective and provide optimal return on investment.
  • Lead and coordinate the setup, execution, and breakdown of events, ensuring all client specifications are met and disruptions are minimized.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality services and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Address and resolve any issues or complaints related to facility usage, maintaining professional communication and client satisfaction.
  • Regularly review and analyze event success to continuously improve service offerings and facility usage.
  • Ensure all facility activities are well-documented, maintaining accurate records for usage, maintenance, and financial transactions.

Qualifications

  • A Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in facility or events management, with a proven track record in managing largescale facilities

Skills & Competences:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management and scheduling.
  • In-depth knowledge of facility operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial reports.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and facility management software.
  • Ability to handle high pressure and meet tight deadlines.
