We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Facility Officer
Location: Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Facility Manager
Job Purpose
- The Facility Officer is responsible for overseeing our facilities’ efficient and effective operation, maintenance, and management.
- This role ensures the facility environment’s safety, security, and functionality while meeting the needs of employees, tenants, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance and Operations:
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and systems (plumbing, electrical, etc.).
- Coordinate and oversee repairs and maintenance activities to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Manage contracts and relationships with vendors and service providers.
- Oversees maintenance technicians like; electricians, plumbers, gardeners, etc.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and regulations.
Safety and Security:
- Implement and enforce security protocols and procedures.
- Monitor surveillance systems and respond to security incidents as needed.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and drills.
Environmental Management:
- Implement sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact (energy conservation, waste management, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
Budget and Cost Management:
- Assist in the preparation of the facility budget and manage expenses within budgetary constraints.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Customer Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for facility-related inquiries and issues.
- Address resident/employee concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in facility management or a related field.
- Knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and health and safety regulations.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with residents.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management software/tools is preferred.
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Facility Manager) or equivalent experience.
