Position Summary

  • The Front Office Supervisor at Huxton Hotel is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front desk and ensuring exceptional guest service.
  • This role involves supervising the front office team, handling guest inquiries and concerns, and ensuring efficient check-in and check-out processes.
  • The Front Office Supervisor reports to the Front Office Manager and works closely with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the front office team, including front desk agents, concierge, and bell staff.
  • Train and mentor front office staff, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to provide exceptional guest service.
  • Monitor the front desk operations to ensure smooth check-in and check-out processes, including managing room assignments and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
  • Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, aiming to achieve guest satisfaction and resolution.
  • Assist in managing room inventory, ensuring accurate room availability and optimal occupancy levels.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance departments to ensure cleanliness and functionality of guest rooms and public areas.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel services, amenities, and local attractions to provide guests with accurate information and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as reservations, sales, and food and beverage, to ensure effective communication and seamless guest experiences.
  • Oversee the handling of guest requests, amenities, and special arrangements, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Monitor and respond to online reviews and feedback, taking necessary actions to address guest concerns and improve guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, such as occupancy rates, revenue, and guest feedback, providing valuable insights to management.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and standards, including safety and security protocols.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to front office staff, recognizing and addressing areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the hospitality industry.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and a customer-centric mindset.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a Degree in Hospitality Management or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a front office or guest service role, with 2 – 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, colleagues, and management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems (PMS) and other relevant software applications.
  • Proficient in English; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations and handle guest complaints with empathy and diplomacy.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of local attractions, restaurants, and services to assist guests with recommendations and arrangements.
  • Most perfered: Candidate residing around Jakande and environ.
