Job Summary

  • We require urgently the services of Audit/Tax Trainees to join its team. As a Trainee you will be supporting Audit Seniors on the delivery of audit assignments on a broad range of clients, covering a number of sectors.
  • Your role will be supporting the Team in forming a view on whether the information presented in a financial report, reflects the financial position of the organization at a given date.
  • You will support the Audit Team in drafting reports which express the opinion drawn from the Auditors on whether the company’s financial statements are accurate and free of misstatements whether due to fraud or error.
  • The outcome of your work will contribute to providing various stakeholders with assurance of an organization’s financial and accounting records.

Job Description

  • Engaging in Audit exercises and representing client at Tax meetings with FIRS and LIRS.
  • To keep records of all clients files and confidential document etc.
  • Assist in the compilation of the annual audit plan in conjunction with the Audit Supervisor
  • Filing and managing tax files
  • To support the tax team with preparation of tax calculations
  • Plan, assign and manage the audits/verification visits and coordination of the follow up arising from same
  • Making sure clients are compliant by preparing and submitting tax returns
  • Review, edit and approve the reports arising from the above visits, prior to issue to confirm the accuracy of same and to ensure consistency
  • Liaise with the Audit Supervisorin relation to any significant issues and manage the on-going development of appropriate reporting and data collection systems
  • Co-ordinate the follow up procedures as required i.e. replies etc arising from the onsite verification/audits in order to ensure all reports are concluded on a timely basis
  • Manage and review the overall audit/verification schedules to ensure they are regularly updated in a timely manner
  • Prepare regular reports outlining the status of the reports against the audit plan as well as exception reporting detailing the outstanding issues
  • Prepare regular summary reports for presentation to the respective internal meetings summarizingthe key issues highlighted during the course of the verification visits/audits of the individual program
  • Manage the on-going reporting to the management in relation to the results of the onsite verification visits/audits in conjunction with the Audit Supervisor
  • To have an awareness of the various services provided by the firm
  • To maintain professional working relationships with clients throughout the fieldwork.
  • To continue to increase and maintain technical knowledge by reading various accountancy journals and newspapers etc.
  • Attend all training courses as required
  • Perform other duties assigned from time to time.

Academic Requirements & Person Specification

  • B.Sc in Accounting or a related course
  • Must be Male’s for Gender balance
  • Proficient in the use of MS – Office and other accounting Software
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and research skills
  • Effectively able to manage projects

Salary

  • N80,000.00 – N120,000.00 Gross.
