Job Summary
- We are seeking a Graduate Intern (Biology & Health) with an interest in agricultural health, food safety, biosecurity, and occupational health.
- This internship is designed for recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in biological safety, health risk assessment, and disease prevention within the agricultural sector.
- The intern will work closely with our Health & Safety and Agricultural Research teams to ensure safe and sustainable farming practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating biological risks related to agriculture and food production.
- Support health and safety assessments for farm workers and food processing teams.
- Participate in research on zoonotic diseases, biosecurity, and environmental health.
- Conduct inspections and implement health and safety protocols on the farm.
- Support laboratory testing and analysis of agricultural products for contamination.
- Help develop training materials on farm hygiene, food safety, and occupational health.
- Assist in disease surveillance and control strategies for livestock and crops.
- Engage in data collection, documentation, and reporting on health-related agricultural research.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, food safety, and occupational health regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Recent graduate with a Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Public Health, Environmental Science, or related fields.
- Strong interest in agricultural health, food safety, and biosecurity.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory testing, health risk assessments, and biological safety.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in agriculture is an advantage.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in both laboratory and farm environments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to reside on the farm premises as required for training and work experience.
