Our Farm-Farmer School is equipped with boarding facilities, a central refectory, demo plots and recreation facilities all sustainably solar powered. Job Title: Graduate Intern (Forestry – Agroforestry & Sustainable Land Management)

Job Summary
- We are seeking a Graduate Intern (Forestry) with a strong interest in agroforestry, sustainable land management, and forest conservation.
- This internship provides an opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in integrating trees and forests into agricultural landscapes to enhance productivity, biodiversity, and climate resilience.
- The intern will work closely with our forestry and sustainability teams to implement agroforestry practices and support environmental conservation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in agroforestry project implementation, including tree planting and forest management.
- Support research on sustainable land management and carbon sequestration through agroforestry.
- Participate in biodiversity conservation initiatives, including habitat restoration.
- Conduct assessments of soil and water conservation strategies in agroforestry systems.
- Engage with farmers to promote agroforestry practices for sustainable livelihoods.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating the impact of agroforestry on soil fertility and climate adaptation.
- Contribute to the development of training materials for farmers and extension workers.
- Collect and analyze field data to contribute to agroforestry and environmental sustainability research.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and forestry regulations in land management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Recent graduate with a Degree in Forestry, Agroforestry, Environmental Science, or related fields.
- Strong interest in sustainable agriculture, land restoration, and climate resilience.
- Basic knowledge of tree species selection, nursery management, and forest conservation.
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing is an advantage.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in field environments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to reside on the farm premises as required for training and work experience.
