Job Title: Head, Finance
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of the Bank’s management and financial statements (daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annually, annually etc.) to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Responsible for maintaining the Bank’s general ledgers, revenue recognition, account payable & receivables and taxation processes.
- Controlling budgets and expenditures by researching to its impact on business performance.
- Proper monitoring, recording, and safeguarding of the Bank’s assets and formulating policies that will have positive impact on business performance.
- Ascertaining that all accounting endeavours comply with appropriate financial laws and regulations.
- Oversee budget planning, preparation, implementation, and monitoring process in the Bank.
- Frequent preparation, analysis, interpretation, and monitoring of cash flow of the Bank.
- Provide advice to Management on appropriate cost control measures for cost optimalization purposes.
- Ensure proper handling of all regulatory issues in order to protect the interest of the Bank.
- Management of all the financial records of the bank by ensuring proper record keeping.
- Ensure efficient relationship management between Bank and other regulatory bodies and institutions.
- Ensure that all financial returns to (NDIC, FIRS, CBN etc.) are filed as at when due to avoid any form of sanctions or financial losses for the Bank.
- Providing back-office services such as account payable, collections and payroll management.
- Providing insightful reporting and commercial analysis to support management decision making.
- Coordinating all statutory and regulatory examinations of the Bank.
Qualifications
- Minimum of B.Sc. (second class upper) / HND (upper credit) in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Banking & Finance, or related fields (Advanced degree / certification is strongly preferred).
- Must be a qualified chartered accountant with over 10 years cognitive relevant work experience, preferably with background from the financial service sector.
