Job Summary
- The Head of Engineering and Projects will be responsible for leading the planning, design, and execution of all engineering and project delivery activities across the organisation.
- This includes overseeing the development of surface infrastructure, production facilities, and tie-ins required to support efficient and sustainable oil and gas operations.
- The role demands a technically proficient and commercially aware leader who can manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects from concept through commissioning.
- The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record in upstream project delivery, a deep understanding of Nigeria’s oil and gas environment, and the ability to drive innovation, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute engineering designs and field development facilities, including surface infrastructure and tie-ins.
- Lead multi-disciplinary project teams from concept to commissioning, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards.
- Ensure adherence to project schedule, budget, technical specifications, and HSE requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage relationships with EPC contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Collaborate closely with subsurface, operations, and commercial teams to ensure integrated project planning and execution.
- Champion engineering innovation, sustainable design practices, and the adoption of new technologies to enhance project outcomes.
- Oversee project risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
- Monitor and report on project performance metrics, including cost, schedule, quality, and safety indicators.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering and project management processes, tools, and team capabilities.
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering and project delivery team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of 15 years in upstream oil and gas engineering and project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership position
- Strong project delivery record in Nigeria’s oil and gas environment.
- Familiarity with Front End Engineering Design (FEED), detailed design, procurement, and construction for onshore / offshore projects.
