Job Title: Head of Unit, IT Infrastructure Management

Location: Lagos

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Management:

  • Develop and implement the IT infrastructure strategy in alignment with the organization’s IT strategy and business objectives.
  • Plan and budget for IT infrastructure projects, resources, and tools.
  • Lead and manage the IT Infrastructure team, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and mentorship.
  • Establish and maintain IT infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures.

Network Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Ensure network security and performance.
  • Manage network capacity and plan for future growth.

Server Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the management and maintenance of the organization’s server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
  • Ensure server availability, performance, and security.
  • Manage server operating systems, patching, and updates.

Data Center Operations (if applicable):

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of the organization’s data centers, if applicable.
  • Ensure data center security, environmental controls, and power management.

Cloud Services Management (if applicable):

  • Manage the organization’s cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Ensure cloud security, cost optimization, and performance.

End-User Computing Management:

  • Manage end-user computing devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Provide end-user support and troubleshooting.

Security Management:

  • Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect the organization’s IT infrastructure and data.
  • Manage security devices and systems, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:

  • Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the organization’s IT infrastructure can be recovered in the event of a disaster.
  • Regularly test and update disaster recovery plans.

Vendor Management:

  • Manage relationships with IT infrastructure vendors and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure service level agreements are met.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Provide regular reports on IT infrastructure performance, availability, and security.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders about IT infrastructure issues and changes.
