Job Description:
- The role involves proactive collaboration with managers to establish and sustain a safety-oriented culture within the organization, mitigating the risk of potential losses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regularly inspect trucks to ensure roadworthiness and promptly report any issues.
- Conduct safety drills, such as fire drills, to ensure employee preparedness for emergencies.
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with statutory, regulatory, industry, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) requirements.
- Identify potential business hazards and recommend necessary actions to the Head of Safety.
- Supervise the implementation of established safety policies and procedures.
- Inspect safety tools and equipment, including sprinklers and fire extinguishers.
- Maintain effective relationships with external agencies and emergency response service providers (e.g., Fire Service, emergency services, HMO, environmental agency).
- Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (e.g., dust masks, safety glasses, footwear, safety helmets) in accordance with regulations.
- Coordinate personnel training in safety-related areas, including first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, workplace inspections, and safety procedure implementation.
- Oversee emergency procedures, depot rescues, firefighting, and first aid teams.
Person Specification:
- Minimum of an HND in Engineering, Sciences, Social Sciences, Administration, or Humanities.
- Desirable HSE Certifications.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Safety and/or Environment roles within the Oil & Gas or Manufacturing Industry.
