Job Summary

  • The Key Account Officer will lead the growth, performance, and expansion distribution network within assigned Territory.
  • This includes recruiting and managing retail partners (dealers, agents, shop owners), optimizing point-of-sale performance, and ensuring strong last-mile customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
Channel Development:

  • Identify, Engage and onboard retail partners, agents, and local distributors in high-potential areas.
  • Design and execute channel expansion strategies for urban, peri-urban, and rural regions.
  • Map out and segment markets by region, population density, and connectivity level.

Sales Performance & Growth:

  • Drive sales targets for channel partners and ensure consistent performance.

Reporting & Insights:

  • Maintain accurate records of partner recruitment, sales, and customer feedback.
  • Generate regular reports for senior management and recommend actionable insights.
  • Use tools like CRM and mobile field apps to manage retail partner relationships.

Partnership & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with marketing to support in-store activations, local campaigns, and promotions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in retail/channel sales, preferably in FMCG, telecom, energy, or consumer goods.
  • Strong experience in agent networks, last-mile delivery, or informal retail is a big plus.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of Nigeria’s retail landscape and consumer behavior.
  • Comfortable with tech tools (CRMs, mobile apps, Google Sheets, basic dashboards).
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Luganda or other local languages is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across regions.
