About the Job

• Ensure completion of mechanical maintenance jobs with the highest level of quality, safety and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximise equipment availability. Apply preventive and predictive maintenance practices, and contribute to their improvement.

What you’ll be doing 

• Communicate clearly on information relating to potentially dangerous situations and get confirmation that they are correctly understood.
• Make sure that key equipment is working properly.
• Ensure the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
• Is responsible for the execution and the quality of maintenance work to be carried out on mechanical equipment according to planned work orders.
• Responsible for knowledge transfer and develop team members for improve performance.
• Ensure proper day-to-day scheduling of works and necessary resources. Assign and review work to perform with the craftsmen.
• Ensure, upon completion of repairs, that equipment is in good operating condition, ready to meet operational requirements, fully inspected, tested, clean and safe.
• Ensure and control quality of maintenance jobs done by subcontractors.
• Provide reporting on repair jobs including consumption of materials, specific tools, man-hours and skills, and fills equipment history files.
• Ensure completion of major operations within schedule (yearly overhaul).
• Contribute in his field, to the development of working methods and definition of procedures and ensure their implementation.
• Keep him/herself informed of general plant practices so as to ensure “on-call” duty.
• Contribute to Root Cause Analysis.
• Participate in the Plant Improvement Plan (PIP).
• Check for safety and cleanness in the workplace

What we are looking for

• Minimum 5 years’ postgraduate experience in execution (Mechanical)
• Proficiency in the use of maintenance tools like SAP etc.
• Good knowledge of cement manufacturing processes.
• Good knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Good knowledge of Reliability based maintenance practices.
• Good problem solving skills through the root cause failure analysis.

What you’ll be doing 

• Work with  the Internal Control Manager to ensure a system is in place which ensures that all major risks of the company are identified and analyzed, on a continuous basis
• Highlight areas of risk and process gaps identified in Industrial Activities.
• Plan, organize and carry out the internal audit function as it related to Industrial activities
• Support in preparation of Industrial report package to the group and audit committee on the policies, programs and activities of the department
• Report on the findings of Industrial Process reviews and assist Internal Control manager in monitoring management’s response and implementation
• Report to the Internal control manager on the value for money that the company obtains in all its industrial activities with special regard to economy, efficiency and effectivenes
• Execute any Industrial reviews or tasks requested by plant management, the audit committee, chief executive or chief financial officer via the Internal control Manager provided such reviews and tasks do not compromise the independence or objectivity of the internal control function
• Provide Internal Control Manager with an opinion on the internal controls within the operations.
• Communicating, educating and ensuring strict compliance with Company’s Policies & procedures
• Perform special investigation of cases in a professional manner when called upon.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant job experience either in an internal audit function or relevant industrial experience
• Understanding of the cement industry or a similar business and regulatory environment
• Strong computer skills especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and email applications
• Ability to prioritize with excellent time management skills
• Good attention to detail
• A knowledge of audit procedures, including planning, techniques, test and sampling methods involved in conducting audits
• An ability to gather, analyze and evaluate facts and to prepare and present concise oral and written reports
• An ability to maintain current knowledge of developments related to business matters of interest to internal audit

Desirable

• Membership of ICAN, ACCA, CPA or equivalent
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) – Exams may be taken after hiring
