Job Title: Legal Officer
Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Summary
- Firmus Legal Officer is responsible for managing and reviewing legal documentation such as loan agreement, security agreement etc., before and after transactions on behalf of all units in The Firmus Group. The role will also be required to provide all legal advisory.
Responsibilities
- Attend all court sessions and liaise with external counsel with respect to litigation, arbitration, tax appeals and any other dispute resolution proceedings.
- Maintain litigation/property, other records and prepare periodic work reports and updates.
- Serve as company representative and provide legal support during negotiations of any kind, including MOU negotiations with host communities.
- Provide Firmus with legal guidance in transactions with third parties.
- Prepare and draft agreements /contracts, leases and follow through their implementation in conjunction with Firmus Group CEO.
- Handle routine legal dossiers autonomously, complex legal dossiers with supervision, and participate in negotiations with The Firmus Group’s partners, contractors, and relevant government agencies.
Requirements
- B.Sc. / HND in law, legal studies, or a closely relatedcourses.
- Minimum of 1 year legal experience in financial services ideally in a handling legal cases , contract negotiation and drafting with skills in leading a legal team, preferably in the Banking Sector
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to do deep research and understand complex legal documents
- Ability to use MS word, Excel, PowerPoint with knowledge in E- Channels.
- Ability to carryout complaint/fraud investigation and perform system reviews.
