Job Title: Legal Officer

Job Summary
- The Legal Officer will be responsible for overseeing the company’s legal affairs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, drafting and reviewing contracts, and providing legal support across various departments.
- The role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide legal guidance on corporate governance, business policies, and risk management.
- Conduct legal research to stay updated on relevant laws and industry regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Identify potential legal risks in contracts and suggest necessary modifications.
- Maintain a repository of all legal documents and ensure timely renewals.
- Manage and coordinate company litigation matters.
- Liaise with external legal counsel on disputes, court cases, and regulatory proceedings.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings when required.
- Ensure compliance with corporate laws, including company registrations and filings.
- Handle intellectual property matters, including trademarks and copyrights.
- Assist in drafting company policies and internal legal guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal departments to provide legal support.
- Engage with external regulatory bodies, legal firms, and government agencies when required.
- Conduct legal awareness training for employees on compliance matters.
Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B); Call to Bar (B.L) is required.
- A master’s degree or additional certifications (e.g., Company Secretarial Practice, Arbitration) is an
- added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a corporate or commercial environment.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, and labor laws.
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High ethical standards and attention to detail.
- Experience in regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Familiarity with company secretarial duties.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
