Managing Director at Catering to Africans In Need (CAIN)

• Catering to Africans In Need (CAIN) is a non-profit organization focused on improving the quality of education and healthcare for the less privileged in impoverished African societies.
• We are currently searching for a Managing director who will oversee and manage all our operations and programs, raise funds and develop strategic partnerships to drive our mission. We expect him/her to not only be passionate about our mission but to also work relentlessly to ensure that we achieve beyond our set goals.

Duties of the Managing Director

Under the general direction of the Board of Directors, Employee shall be responsible for the operation and general management of Employer’s activities and services. His/her specific duties and responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:

• Give direction and leadership to the formation and achievement of CAIN’s philosophy, mission, goals and objectives
• Work with Board of Directors and staff to develop and implement policies, procedures and strategic plans
• Oversee administrative, financial and program operations
• Create and administer CAIN’s annual budget
• Negotiate and ensure compliance with Employer’s contracts
• Manage the operation of CAIN’s facilities and equipment
• Pursue and incorporate additional revenue sources through a variety of fundraising activities consistent with the mission and policies of CAIN
• Establish strategic partnerships to drive CAIN’s mission and maintain a close working relationship with Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, partners, target communities and benefactors
• Stay informed of trends, issues, events and developments within the education and health sector through contacts, conferences, networking, events etc.
• Develop and coordinate an active volunteer program

Required Qualifications

A competitive candidate for this position should possess the following skills:

• Bachelor’s degree and National Youth Service Corps certificate
• Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience managing a nonprofit organization
• Passion for CAIN’s mission and the ability to comprehend and effectively communicate issues surrounding poor healthcare and education for the underprivileged in Africa
• Mastery of English Language, Fluency in Yoruba and pidgin english
• Outstanding communication skills in multiple environments and with a range of audiences
• Must be flexible and adaptable
• Strong computing and software skills (PC, MS Office and Google Workspace)
• Strong work ethic, reliability and dependability
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Team player, self-motivated and compassionate
• Demonstrated experience fundraising: grant writing, crowdfunding and soliciting gifts
• Demonstrated ability of building and leading teams
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and make efficient decisions
• Demonstrated experience setting and managing budgets and financial forecasting
• Demonstrated experience establishing strategic partnerships to implement projects
