Job Title: Montessori Preschool Teacher

Job Overview
- The Montessori preschool teacher is responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for young children to learn and grow.
- They will develop and implement a curriculum that promotes cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, while also fostering creativity, imagination, and a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and lessons that are aligned with the preschool’s curriculum and state standards.
- Create a safe and engaging classroom environment that supports young children’s social and emotional development.
- Establish positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues and maintain regular communication with parents and guardians.
- Observe and assess children’s development and progress, and use this information to plan individualized learning experiences.
- Maintain accurate records of children’s progress, attendance, and developmental milestones.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement school-wide events and activities.
- Attend professional development opportunities and stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Relevant teaching experience, preferably in a preschool setting.
- General knowledge of the Montessori education philosophy
- A passion for working with young children and a commitment to their holistic development.
- Knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families.
- Organizational and time management skills to plan and implement a variety of activities and lessons.
Physical Demands:
- The preschool teacher will spend most of their workday on their feet, interacting with children and leading activities.
- They may need to lift and carry children or equipment, and must be able to bend, kneel, and sit on the floor.
Working Conditions:
- The preschool teacher will work in a classroom setting, with some time spent outdoors for play and other activities.
- They will work a typical 8-hour workday, with occasional evening or weekend events
