Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • As an Entry-Level Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of energy projects.
  • You will work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet technical specifications, deadlines, and budget requirements.
  • This role offers exposure to a diverse range of projects, including renewable energy systems (solar, wind, and battery storage) and conventional power generation.

Responsibilities
Project Planning and Support:

  • Assist in preparing project proposals, technical documentation, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies under supervision.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop project plans.

Technical Coordination:

  • Perform basic calculations and analyses for energy projects.
  • Support the design and review of energy systems, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to gather technical information and ensure alignment with project goals.

Project Execution:

  • Monitor project progress and update schedules in collaboration with the project manager.
  • Assist in coordinating on-site activities and ensure safety and quality standards are upheld.
  • Document project milestones and prepare progress reports.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to resolve technical and logistical issues.
  • Participate in project meetings and present findings or updates.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance project workflows, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in energy systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related discipline).
  • Knowledge of conventional and renewable energy systems (solar, wind, thermal, etc.) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles (knowledge of tools like MS Project is a plus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • EIT (Engineer in Training) Certification.
  • Familiarity with energy standards such as ASME, IEEE, or ISO standards.
