We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Project Engineer – Oil & Gas Construction Projects
Location: Warri – Delta / Port Harcourt – Rivers
Employment Type: Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Assist in planning and scheduling project activities, including resource allocation and timeline management.
- Technical Support: Provide engineering expertise for onshore prefabrication and offshore construction activities, including scaffolding, welding, blasting, and painting.
- Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to Company specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., API RP2A, ANSI B31.3).
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including technical reports, QA/QC records, and progress updates.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, construction crews, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee QA/QC processes to ensure all deliverables meet the required standards.
- Safety: Promote and enforce HES (Health, Environment, and Safety) standards on-site.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: BSc in a core Engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical).
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in project and construction engineering within the Oil and Gas industry.
Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Strong technical knowledge of construction processes and engineering principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Certifications:
- OPITO Basic Offshore Survival Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET).
- Relevant engineering certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are an advantage.
Key Competencies:
- Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of offshore and onshore construction processes, including scaffolding, welding, blasting, and painting.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure all project deliverables meet Company specifications and quality standards.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve project goals.
