We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Quality Inspector
Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-Time
Purpose of the Job
- To conduct thorough inspection and analysis of inbound and outbound Agro commodities, including Soya seeds, Maize, Sorghum, Palm Kernel (PK), and Cassava, in external aggregation warehouses; ensuring commodities specifications are in line with the business standards.
The Job
- Conduct comprehensive inspection and quality analysis of inbound and outbound Agro commodities to verify compliance with business specifications.
- Monitor and oversee the storage conditions of Agro commodities in external aggregation warehouses.
- Ensure adherence to quality control guidelines and SOPs.
- Ensure accurate documentation of commodity quality, weight, and condition upon receipt and release for production.
- Ensure the rejection of commodities that fail to meet specifications or comply with required standards.
- Carry out bimonthly warehouse condition and quality monitoring of commodities in stock.
- Collaborate with warehouse personnel and logistics teams.
- Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory requirements for the handling and storage of Agro commodities.
Qualifications / Experience
- HND / B.Sc. in Food Science, Agriculture / Agro-allied Sciences, Biochemistry or any other related discipline.
- Grain Quality Inspection or Food Safety (ISO 22000)
- At least 3 years cognate experience.
The Person Must:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess the ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic issues or assist in solving more complex problems.
- Familiarity with equipment, machinery and tools related to the specific industry or process.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to assist in operating equipment, monitoring processes and performing routine tasks.
