Job Title: Regulatory Development Analyst
Location: Lagos
Job Description
- We are looking for a goal-oriented & highly skilled individual who has thorough knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian Capital Market rules and regulations, the Code of Corporate Governance Principles.
- S/He will be required to be a consummate Capital Markets Regulatory professional with a strong personality, must have good people management skills and the ability to work as a team player to support the department and organisation.
- The regulatory development Analyst will report to the Team Lead, Regulatory Development and Approvals.
Responsibilities
- Review applications for trading licenses, regulatory approvals and accreditation for various market functions;
- Support the development and implementation of new and existing regulatory policies, frameworks and rules;
- Support the implementation of the Minimum Operating Standards (MOS) for Trading License Holders;
- Promote compliance and help ensure compliance with the rules and policies of Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX);
- Conduct extensive research as required for services/products offered by NGX Regulation Limited;
- Draft rules and policies in accordance with legislation and guidelines;
- Prepare relevant communications to the Board and Executives on various projects and initiatives;
- Maintain the database of Trading License Holders, ensure website updates and act as the liaison between the other units in the department, other departments in NGX Regulation, NGX and related stakeholders;
- Prepare correspondences, reports, presentations, notices and organize meetings for the Unit and department as required;
- Manage stakeholder relationship and support Trading License Holders and all relevant stakeholders;
- Manage the conduct of representative office, branch office, and pre-trade examinations;
- Prepare and coordinate the collation of required periodic Statutory/Regulatory Reports and submit to the appropriate statutory/regulatory agency;
- Identify training needs and recommend capacity development programmes for Trading License Holders to NGX X-Academy;
- Review Trading License Holders financial performance, capital adequacy and liquidity management;
- Conduct compliance checks and review Trading License Holders compliance with the applicable Rules and Regulations;
- Track inactive firms on an ongoing basis with a view to providing support to resolve outstanding regulatory issues and recommend for disciplinary proceedings;
- Manage the process for the exit of a Firm relinquishing its Trading License.
Qualifications
- HND/Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting, Finance or any related discipline;
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ post NYSC experience in Financial Service sector with strong understanding of Capital Market operations and relationship management experience;
- Experience in relationship management, licensing and regulatory compliance within the financial sector;
- Ability to own complex initiatives; superior project management skills;
- Strong analytical skills and comfortable with figures;
- Excellent leadership and Communication skills.
