Job Title: Senior Backend Developer (Lamp Stack)

Location: Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using PHP (Laravel, Symfony, etc.).
• Design and manage relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• Build microservices and optimize backend logic.
• Integrate third-party systems (HRMS, Active Directory, wearables, etc.).
• Implement caching strategies using Redis or Memcached for performance optimization.
• Ensure security and encryption, following best practices in data privacy and compliance.
• Optimize backend services for scalability in cloud environments (AWS / Azure).
• Implement server-side security features like data encryption, SSL/TLS.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade backend systems.
• Manage web servers (Apache, Nginx) and maintain server configurations.
• Document technical designs and system architecture.
• Collaborate with DevOps for smooth CI/CD workflows using Git, Jenkins, Docker.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience with PHP (Laravel, Symfony) and MySQL/PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of the LAMP stack and web server management (Apache, Nginx).
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in API development and integration.
• Expertise in database design, optimization, and query performance with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS / Azure.
• Familiarity with security best practices, data encryption, and access control mechanisms.
• Experience with version control tools (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

Salary

• N800,000 / N1,200,000 / month.
