Job Title: Senior Backend Developer (MERN Stack)

Location: Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
• Build and optimize microservices.
• Design and maintain NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Integrate with third-party systems (HRMS, Active Directory, wearables, etc.).
• Implement caching and load balancing strategies for scalability.
• Ensure data security, encryption, and compliance with relevant standards.
• Optimize backend services for performance, availability, and scalability in cloud environments (AWS / Azure).
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade backend applications.
• Manage API gateways and load balancers.
• Maintain documentation of code and system architecture.
• Collaborate with DevOps for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience with PHP (Laravel, Symfony) and MySQL/PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of the LAMP stack and web server management (Apache, Nginx).
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in API development and integration.
• Expertise in database design, optimization, and query performance with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS / Azure.
• Familiarity with security best practices, data encryption, and access control mechanisms.
• Experience with version control tools (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).

Salary

• N800,000 monthly.
