About the job

  • Work with a specialized team of highly skilled individuals to develop technology solutions and map business/technical requirements to systems requirements in order to ensure they are in line with the company’s architectural plan. Responsible for Architecting, building, and maintaining cost-efficient, scalable cloud environments for the organization. This role requires an Understanding business objectives of the company and creating cloud-based solutions to facilitate those objectives. This is an opportunity to transform service delivery to customers by building the best in class technology in Nigeria’s leading technology solutions organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the practice and introduce the overall technical vision for our digital transformation solutions
  • Architecting, building, and maintaining cost-efficient, scalable cloud environments for the organization and its customers following best practices.
  • Transferring data and internal processes to cloud architecture
  • Keeping cloud environments secure and preventing downtime or security breaches.
  • Work closely with in-house and customer engineers to ensure requirements for optimal cloud deployment are met.
  • Build, integrate and define features, phases, and solution requirements to meet Descasio’s needs
  • Identify the best technical solution to solve existing business problems.
  • Oversee development stages; refine the process, identify areas for improvement, and support the sprint
  • Assess the systems architecture currently in place and recommend solutions on how best to improve
  • Resolve technical problems as they arise
  • Provide supervision and guidance to development teams
  • Keep stakeholders informed on the structure, characteristics, behavior, and other aspects of software and technical solutions being implemented; also provide updates on product development processes, costs and budgets
  • Keep abreast of current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where necessary
  • Assess business impact of certain technical choices and documenting your analysis and requirement

Functional Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of IT infrastructure and cloud development
  • Previous work experience in similar role
  • In depth understanding of GCP, Microsoft Azure & AWS, IaaS (with strong focus on AWS)
  • Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases
  • Knowledge of DevOps is a plus
  • Project and resource management skills would be nice to have
  • Proven experience in software engineering/ architecture design is also a big plus
  • Understanding of coding languages (Java, Javascript, python, etc)
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving and Analytical skills
  • Good communicator with technical and non-technical people
  • Creativity, active energy, passion for tech, and entrepreneurship.
  • Self-driven and proactive nature
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and prioritise work.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in similar role
