About the Role

  • We are currently seeking a Senior Reservations and Ticketing Agent for Abuja, Nigeria. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering professional and customer-oriented reservations and ticketing services to both individual customers and travel businesses, whether through phone calls or in-person meetings. Your primary goal is to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and achieve annual revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make and confirm reservations for passengers.
  • Arrange reservations and routing using timetables, airline manuals, reference guides, and tariff books, ensuring the correct issuance of ATBs for all ticketing transactions.
  • Assist mishandled passengers, including NOREC/DNB cases, to minimize passenger complaints.
  • Issue tickets with accurate fare quotes to reduce passenger complaints and debit notes.
  • Provide advice on changes in flight plans, as well as canceling or confirming reservations.
  • Communicate changes in passenger itineraries to load control personnel and other stations to optimize seating capacity on flights.
  • Ensure timely closure of the sales report.
  • Initiate and promote QR products to generate revenue.
  • Record and process reservations made via phone, fax, or email, and handle telex messages and authorities.
  • Manage the Help desk, assisting travel agents with seat confirmations and upgrade/downgrade proposals.
  • Issue MCOs (Miscellaneous Charges Orders) and process refunds, including lost tickets and time-barred tickets.
  • Examine passenger tickets to provide accurate guidance to passengers.
  • Plan routes and calculate ticket costs using schedules, rate books, and computer systems.
  • Determine the availability of space on requested travel dates and communicate changes to customers or travel agents, offering alternate options.
  • Sell and assemble tickets for mailing or transmission to customers.
  • Respond to inquiries from travel agencies and transportation firms, including airlines, bus companies, railroad companies, and steamship lines.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, along with 1 year of relevant job experience.
  • Recognition of the IATA/Airline Basic Tariff Course will be a valuable asset.
  • Proficiency in world geography.
  • Excellent English language communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Thorough knowledge of special rates, offers, and promotions.
  • Proven ability to manage room sales with a focus on revenue optimization.
  • Ability to adhere to management policies and target sales mix to achieve maximum room revenue while maximizing selling opportunities.

  • Qatar Airways (QR) is embarking on an exciting transformation journey to revolutionize our customer interactions. As part of this endeavor, we are currently seeking a Senior Account Manager to join our team. This role is based in Kano, Nigeria, and will involve managing relationships with Qatar Airways’ valued customers.

Responsibilities

  • Take charge of nurturing and expanding existing relationships with Qatar Airways’ customers, while also cultivating a pipeline of prospects for conversion.
  • Develop and implement a successful and consistent approach to local and multinational dealings, with a focus on maximizing revenue and minimizing the cost of sale.
  • Engage in joint sales and marketing activities to boost the level and quality of QR revenue generated through these partnerships and enhance distribution efficiency.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Optimize marketing spend to extract maximum value while managing individual expenditure budgets.
  • Provide regular Market Intelligence and offer feedback from customers and competitors.
  • Represent QR at trade events, promotions, and sales functions, including supporting educational and familiarization visits.
  • Maximize sales opportunities through value-added partners, such as Tourism Bodies, Frequent Flyer affiliates, alliance and codeshare partners.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in trade and corporate account management.
  • 5 years of industry experience.
  • Strong skills in prospecting, negotiating, and closing deals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to work independently and think creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in business language.
