Job Title: Finance and Administrative Intern

Job Summary
- The successful candidate will assist the Finance Manager in ensuring that the books and records of the More Together Multipurpose Cooperative Society are well maintained, members record duly updated.
- The candidate would assist in timely disbursement of loan request and contribution processing, he or she will also liaise with finance department to obtain record of monthly deductions of staff salary and promptly update same to members ledger.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement ensuring compliance with the Cooperative Bylaw and relevant accounting standard.
- Manage staff contribution from salary and ensure that deductions are timely remitted to the cooperative designative bank account.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions including loan disbursement and repayments.
- Prepare schedule for monthly staff contribution and deduction and forward same to the HR unit.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliation to ensure alignment of the cooperative’s records with bank statement.
- Perform financial analysis to support decision making processes and providing insight and recommendation based on financial data.
- Ensure all financial documents are properly organized and readily available for review.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the cooperative.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records including members record, meeting minutes and official documents.
- Ensure secure storage and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Provide support and assistance to More Together Multipurpose Cooperative Society members addressing their enquiries and issues promptly and professionally.
- Organize and coordinate cooperative society meetings, events and activities and ensure all logistical arrangements are in place.
- Manage procurement processes including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes and processing purchase orders.
Compliance Responsibilities:
- Ensure the cooperative society complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Keep abreast of changes in legislation and advise the More Together Multipurpose Cooperative Society executive on necessary actions.
- Implement and maintain robust internal control to safeguard the cooperative society assets and ensure the integrity of financial transactions.
Communication and Reporting:
- Prepare and present cooperative reports to cooperative executives to include regular update on financial performance, administrative activities, and strategic initiatives.
- Maintain effect communication channel within the cooperative society by ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information to members and stakeholders.
Information Technology Management:
- Oversee the cooperative society IT infrastructure and ensuring system are secure, up to date and functioning effectively.
- Ensure accurate data entry and management by maintaining data integrity and compliance with data protection regulations.
Technical Expertise, Skills, and Knowledge
- Background in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- A student of any Accounting professional certification will be an added advantage.
- A post-NYSC experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration.
Skills:
- Handling of highly confidential information.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of organizational dynamics and maintaining objectivity.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
