Mission

  • To manage and develop trade infrastructure and Financial Services through channels of distribution especially retailers, to ensure MTN dominance at retail in the assigned territory.
  • To drive visibility and brand affinity within assigned territory for competitive edge.

Description

  • Confirm  that  sub dealers and dealer branches are contacted and stock receipt/movement verified.
  • Provide informal training in shops on products, services and promotions being run by marketing, channel or region and on-the-spot training/coaching of all visited outlets in territory (100% of all visited outlets in call cycle)
  • Manage events and promos, generate sub-dealer promo specifications and perform post-promo evaluation
  • Provide weekly/monthly sales activity report and market intelligence report to field service engineers
  • Monitor and report back on network quality and other sales impacting indices in territory covered
  • Ensure call cycle time of 8 – 10 visits a day per territory or as business requires
  • Identify, classify and support all players in channels of distribution and ensure  weekly/monthly database update
  • Ensure MTN product availability in channel is >95% at all times and provide weekly product availability report of all visited outlets during call cycles

Description
Accounting Pronouncements:

  •  Identify, maintain, and communicate all current and upcoming accounting pronouncements relevant to the Opco’s financial statements

Position Papers:

  •  Develop well-supported position papers required to present draft conclusions to the Group and Opco CFO and management

Revenue Recognition and Other Accounting Standards Compliance:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to the relevant standards
  • Review contracts and assess their impact on revenue recognition and other financial statements line items
  • Provide guidance on complex technical accounting scenarios, including multiple-element arrangements and contract modifications

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):

  • Evaluate accounting implications related to business combinations, purchase price allocations, and goodwill impairment assessments.
  • Assist in integrating financial reporting systems and processes post-acquisition

Technical Accounting Research:

  • Conduct in-depth research on accounting issues, including complex transactions, non-standard arrangements, and emerging topics.
  • Prepare technical memos documenting conclusions and recommendations.
  • Provide inputs into various board committee submissions detailing accounting implications of proposed transactions

Financial statements:

  • Review FS templates  and update disclosure on new accounting standards
  • With the aid of IFRS disclosure checklist, review annual and interim FSs to ensure disclosures are adequate and presentation complies with IFRS
  • Collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders in restating financial statements (where such is required)
  • Investigate and rectify any accounting errors or misstatements

Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Assist in developing and updating accounting policies and procedures
  • Complete post-implementation reviews following the implementation of new accounting standards
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across the Opco

Training and Education:

  • Develop training materials and resources to support ongoing education.
  • Deliver periodic IFRS refresher and update training sessions to finance and accounting teams

Description

  • Approve High Level BTS site and Radio Base Station design through the Integrated Network Planning & Works Authorization Processes.
  • Review the nominal RF network plan for capacity and coverage ensure they match marketing’s requirements and growth forecasts.
  • Track and monitor radio network and end to end BSS dimensioning, performance and headroom plan and ensure they are in line with the KPIs and quality targets as defined in NWG Annual Operating Plan.
  • Monitor processes and procedures, ensure compliance to best practices in planning and identify/influence opportunities for improvements.
  • Manage the design of the radio network to ensure that sufficient capacity is provided to support marketing’s subscriber forecast and adequate headroom
  • Oversee and ensure the implementation of the nominal radio coverage and capacity rollout across the country according to business objectives.
  • Monitor and track the detailed RF design carried out by the regional teams to ensure conformance with the central strategy and nominal rollout plan
  • Monitor network performance and configuration to ensure conformance with formulated performance strategy and KPIs
  • Manage the implementation of the BSS network design strategy in such a way as to ensure adequate capacity and technology evolution capability
  • Ensure that the radio coverage and capacity design is done in a timely manner so that it falls in line with regulatory stipulations for GSM rollout in Nigeria
  • Attend regularly and present network rollout status and performance reports and participate in technical discussions at Coverage Steercom Meetings.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge/database of competitor’s activities and competitive environment.
  • Ensure low level planning, monitoring and performance testing on the live network is being done and fed back by the regional RF Planning and Access Optimization Teams into the nominal rollout plan.
  • Provide/Maintain adequate tools and resources are available for planning and high level network analysis.
  • Drive and ensure the timely provision of transmission, site acquisition and other dependencies/input for the BTS rollout program.
