Title: Account Officer
Location: Lagos
Key purpose of the role:
- Pays invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling, preparing disbursements, and obtaining authorization of payments
- Obtains revenue by verifying transaction information, computing charges, refunds, and preparing/mailing invoices
Responsibilities:
- Preparing work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information
- Paying invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling, preparing disbursements, and obtaining authorization of payments
- Obtaining of revenue by verifying transaction information, computing charges, refunds, and preparing/mailing invoices
- Collecting revenue and notifying customers of insufficient payments
- Preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
- Maintaining accounting ledgers by posting account transactions
- Verifying accounts by reconciling statements and transactions
- Resolving account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments and adjustments
- Maintaining financial security by following internal accounting controls
- Securing financial information by completing database backups
- Maintaining financial historical records by filing accounting documents
- Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Requirements
- Relevant qualification or Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Intermediate – Advanced Excel
- Must have experience in the advertising industry
