Job Description:
As the Accountant for our organization, your role encompasses a range of vital financial and managerial responsibilities:
- Financial Statements and Reports: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and management reports to provide insights into the company’s financial performance.
- Budgeting: Develop quarterly budgets and oversee their effective implementation, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
- Project Management: Prepare job costing and project management reports to monitor project financials and ensure profitability.
- Cost Analysis: Provide timely reports on budget and cost variances, allowing for informed decision-making.
- Statutory Remittances: Prepare and manage monthly Pension, NHF, NSITF, and PAYE remittances in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Bank Reconciliation: Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements to ensure accurate financial records.
- Payroll: Prepare monthly payroll and ensure the timely payment of staff salaries.
- Project Reporting: Deliver timely project reports to monitor progress and financial performance.
- Client Invoicing: Prepare bills and client invoices to facilitate revenue collection.
- Accounts Receivable and Payable: Manage accounts receivables and payables efficiently to optimize cash flow.
- Financial Systems Enhancement: Advise the Managing Director on necessary improvements in accounting and control systems.
- Auditor Liaison: Collaborate with external auditors to finalize the annual report and oversee other outsourced financial assignments.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze collected data to assess the company’s financial health, revenue generation, and expenditure patterns.
Additional Requirement:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc/HND) in Accounting is required.
- IT Proficiency: Strong IT skills and proficiency in using accounting software are essential for this role.
- Certification: While not mandatory, ICAN certification is optional and can be an advantage.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills are crucial for interpreting financial data.
- Communication: Effective communication skills are necessary for collaboration within the team.
- Availability: Must be available to start within 2 weeks.
