About the role

• The Accountant is responsible for providing support to the Finance and Operations team by managing daily accounting and financial tasks.
• In this role, you will be responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledgers, and preparing management accounts, primarily for the Real Estate team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports.
• Manage cash flow and daily accounting operations for the Real Estate team, including accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare periodic financial statements.
• Engage in Transaction postings.
• Perform Bank Reconciliation exercises.
• Serve as a point of contact for external auditors.
• Manage preparation and support of all external audits.
• Process internal and external payments to Clients and Vendors.
• Update and maintain the pre-payment schedules on the accounting software.
• Assist in the preparation of Management Account.
• Provide regular updates on the financial performance of the business
• Assist in the preparation and timely remittance of monthly regulatory returns such as PAYE, Pension, VAT, NSITF and ITF.
• Manage the Petty cash Till.
• Client Operations and transaction processing.
• Maintain a fixed asset register on the software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
• 1 – 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, preferably in real estate investment or property management
• Professional Certifications (ICAN/CFA/CPA) is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP and IFRS
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
