About the Job

  • The Accounting Assistant will provide support to the Head of Finance in managing daily accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
  • The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Review and reconcile invoices and receipts, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Prepare and file tax returns and maintain tax records.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Contribute to the development of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records, both electronic and physical.
  • Provide administrative support to the Head of Finance as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices is a plus
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus
