The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was established in 1957 by Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, and South Africa. The CAF oversees tournaments and provides technical and managerial training programs while aggressively promoting the game of football. It also serves as the region’s administrative organization. The Africa Cup of Nations (CAN or AFCON), the most well-known championship, is organized by the Confederation. 1). Communications Director

Location: Cairo, Egypt (CAF Headquaters)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a progressive high-impact communications strategy supporting CAF’s vision and business priorities.
  • Shape a competitive organizational structure including cross-divisional synergies and a powerful external network.
  • Lead, inspire, and form a winning communications team with ambitious ideas, clear plans, and concrete action.
  • Master all communication channels including digital and social media to bring the beauty of the game to the world and to showcase CAF’s leading role as a modern, dynamic, and trustworthy sports organization.
  • Develop & execute the public relations strategy, build brand awareness, and build & protect CAF’s global reputation.
  • Develop and implement contingency communication measures to ensure and support professional and effective issues and crisis management.
  • Cultivate relationships with senior editors, journalists, and influencers in order to drive positive coverage of CAF.
  • Build and maintain fruitful relationships with media departments and representatives of football, sport and governmental organizations including confederations and member associations.
  • Assume editorial responsibility for all internal and external CAF publications (editorials, forewords, agendas, news, brochures, specials, speeches, etc.) and presidential speeches.
  • Develop and improve news research, databases, and projects regarding current and historic information to ensure legacy and shape the future.
  • Develop, oversee, and manage the budget to ensure the financial success of the organization.
  • Contribute as a member of the management board to a bright future of CAF.
  • Be responsible for the overall strategy and budgets of the division.
  • Conduct procurement-compliant tender processes to select the best services providers for CAF Communications.
  • Report activities and results to top management.

Requirements (Profile)

  • Master’s Degree in Communication, Journalism, or similar.
  • Proven track record, minimum 10+ years of successful career in journalism and/or senior communications role in an international environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing people directly and indirectly.
  • Extensive professional and international network in global sports and communications, including key contacts.
  • Deep executive communications experience and the ability to partner with demanding top management.
  • Proven track record as an outstanding, results-oriented communication professional in a leading international company or major sports organization
  • Demonstrate success as an inspirational leader who has successfully shaped the organization and motivated staff to achieve and sustain excellence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop alliances with internal and external groups.
  • Comfortable dealing effectively, diplomatically, honestly, and sensitively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Passion for football including: growing knowledge about the world of football.
  • Football knowledge and sensitivity for football (real insight on mechanisms and basis of football, being in touch with leading officials, players etc.)
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken), Fluent in French language (at least spoken, written is desirable); command of the Arabic language is a plus.
  • Awareness of IT and new media opportunities.

2). Senior Manager – Travel and Accommodation

Location: Cairo, Egypt (CAF Headquaters)

Job Details

  • You believe you have the educational background and professional experience to elevate the organization to the highest international standards? CAF is looking to recruit a Senior Manager – Travel and Accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Create a standard documentation defining responsibilities, timelines, and operational workflows.
  • Manage travel business workflow for all CAF Tournaments & Events where travel arrangements are requested in line with CAF Travel Policy.
  • Liaise with Transportation and Guest Management departments.
  • Create and develop a checklist for the specifications of the rooms and service level for the different groups (CAF Officials, Teams, Referees, VVIP/VIP guests, etc.) together with CAF relevant departments.
  • Assess and manage cost effective accommodation needs for all CAF Tournaments and Events.
  • Maintain trustworthy relationships with travel agencies and vendors.
  • Negotiate hotel rates and contracts with direct vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with different relevant travel policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the delivery of visas for CAF Officials, VVIP/VIP Guests, delegates, etc. whenever needed.
  • Conduct inspection visits and generate reports.
  • Manage budget planning and expenses reconciliation.
  • Prepare travel budget and post-events reports.

Requirements (Profile)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or similar.
  • Master’s Degree or any additional certification related to traveling is an advantage.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience in the travel industry.
  • Experience in the sports industry is an advantage.
  • Experience in organizing accommodation arrangements for large numbers of delegates is an advantage.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and other modern IT tools.
  • Fluent in English and/or French languages both written and spoken is a must; command of any of the other CAF official languages (English, French, Arabic) is an asset.
  • Strong project management skills with a clear focus on delivery
  • Excellent understanding of dealing with high-profile guests with complex itineraries
  • Ability to build strong relationships in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Leader, team builder, strategic and conceptual thinker, service minded and able to understand the needs of the business.
